Time Knows No Mercy

We have build a world that is moving at barely imaginable speed.

Fabulous music from “The Last of the Mohicans,” a fabulous film in itself, yet representing the end of a civilization.

As our own civilization hovers as though on the edge of a knife, will we surrender to the very real demon of domestic treason?

Will we be lulled, comfortable in our complacency?

Or, like our ancestors, will we fight?

It’s come to that. We don’t have to go anywhere to fight a just war.

It’s here.

Right now.

    Hi ara,

Well, I hope not, at least for the moment. The country is too evenly divided to survive such a conflict. Not to mention that we have too many foreign enemies just waiting for us to weaken. Our internal disputes, at this time, need to be settled with education instead of guns.

As an additional note, California has the forth largest economy in the world. Most strange.

Scary. We should be concerned that, as we fall behind in population, learning, and economy, we remain the last bastion of freedom in the world. What would happen to freedom if this trend continued for another hundred years?

    Hi, Grit! Welcome!

Actually the Call to Arms was not as literal as it sounds, but the war is just as threatening. I am convinced, though, that at some point firearms will become necessary.

I don’t remember where I read it, rabbit trails being what they are, but I very recently came across the statement that the Second Amendment is the Constitution’s re-boot button. I got a real kick out of that.

No, Grit, the war we are in now really is one of education. Blogs are at the forefront. Since the 110th Congress began its war of aggression against the Constitution itself the only place I have seen warnings is in the blogosphere.

Five examples, four laid directly at the feet of the 110th Congress:

    1. SB1, section 220, which would classify bloggers in particular but the grass roots in general as lobbyists. For the time being it is on the shelf, but it will be back, you can bank on it. In the so-called interests of “transparency in government” it would require registration of any grass roots entity with an audience/subscriber base of 500 or more. Furnishing subscriber lists, etc, to the government is an out and out attack on freedom of speech, freedom to petition government, and freedom to assemble peaceably—all in the first amendment.

    2. HR254, “David’s Law,” sponsored by Sheila Jackson-Lee (D-TX) is a federal hate crime move that very closely parallels Pennsylvania’s Hate Crimes Law (Act. of Dec. 3, 2002, H.B. 1493) which has been used numerous times to target the free speech of people who oppose special privileges for homosexuals.

HR254 is “fast tracked” in the House. This bill is in the first stage of the legislative process where the bill is considered in committee and may undergo significant changes in markup sessions. The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee. Far from dead.

    3. HR.1592, introduced by Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich contains language nearly identical to 254. See http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h110-1592
and read the text of the resolution. Trying to be benign about outlawing free speech results in very transparent bafflegab. Read it carefully. It is in the first stages as it passes through the bowel of the House.

    4. The move to reinstitute the “Fairness Doctrine.” Now that liberal radio has proven itself incapable of building a viable audience it would now elbow its way into successful markets on the pretense that it belongs there. It does not.

This reinstitution proposal was made in the 110th Congress.

Uber-liberalist alternet.org would lump broadband internet in with this scam: “The debate on Sinclair Broadcasting’s plans to air an anti-John Kerry documentary on its 62 stations underscores the need for new national safeguards for the electronic media in the U.S. Policies that ensure that digital media – including cable, satellite, and the broadband Internet – have an obligation to provide diverse viewpoints are more necessary than ever.”

    5. Work in progress on the North American Union, aka The Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America. Very real. DHS head Chernoff publicly acknowledged it as have multitudes of others. European Union-style plot to absorb the U.S. into a league with Mexico and Canada.

These are things that need to be kept before the public eye. These are specific implements of the war I speak of when I say it’s “already here.”

One last note: The first amendment opens with the words, “Congress shall make no law…” screwing with religion, its practice, freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of assembly and the right to petition.

Yet here we have Congress striving to make several laws that will do just that. SB1 violates the right to petition. HR254 and HR1592 violate religion, speech and press. The North American Union effectively tanks our sovereignty.

    The war is here.

    Now.

    Hi, lonedrifter, and welcome!

Your points are well-taken. I will kindly suggest that your suggestion of “another hundred years” may be on the optimistic side.

Our enemy is not “at the gate.” Rather, he is well within the perimeter, entrenched and supplied. Napalm would do nicely here.

I’m looking for many more violations of Congressional oaths to “support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic

It is my personal belief that rather than considering another hundred years we might look at a year and a half to two years of ferocious self-education and grass roots cooperation. Those will be the telling moments.

Your opinion is valued. Thanks for your time, and comment whenever you like.

    Thanks again,

    Hi ara,

I would have commented sooner, but it took a bit of trial and error to figure out what I needed to be logged into to pass the spam test :)

As to breaking oaths, I wrote about one today. Nanny Pelosi has jetted off, once again, to the Middle East where her CO2 trail will eventually lead to Syria. There has to be at least a tiny bit of aid and comfort to our enemy in there somewhere.

As to the North American Union, I’ve thought for years that we should just go ahead and conquer Mexico and Canada. That would take care of our northern border, and the southern one would be much smaller.

    the Grit
