“Why ‘A Rational Aversion’?”
Well, it came from the sky, really, but the more I thought about it the term just fit too well to be ignored. Details are laid out below, but the philosophy of the site and its name follow first.
I think you’ll agree that willful dishonesty–deception–is a pretty filthy thing. I think you’ll also agree that deception owes no loyalties and, though it is a universal vice, it predominantly serves political parties. It does so in nearly equal proportions, to boot, dependent largely on who’s in or out of power at the time.
My reasons for pursuing this tack are several. One, quite frankly, is that I very much enjoy pissing off industrial-grade hypocrites, no matter what political party or other persuasion.
Take, for example, the cadre of rabidly outspoken adherents of the official and governmentally-sponsored racist idealogy called Affirmative Action. How about that?
Affirmative Action is touted as a tool to eliminate racism. The way it works, in a nutshell, is by giving preference to (setting quotas for) minority applicants for admission to, say, institutions of higher learning. How does this work? By limiting access for non-minority individuals to these same institutions.
“Non-minority,” for brainwashed attendees of today’s institutions of higher learning, is more easily spelled w-h-i-t-e. If said attendees want to get fancy schmancy about it they can even say “white males” and sound really enlightened.
Of course, today’s institutions of higher indoctrination learning offer their own poignant vengeance in that most of them aren’t worth the cost or the time. Where future scholars were once taught the art and process and practice of rational thought, today’s beaten disciples are instructed by mandate not in how to think but in what to think. Comply or die, as it were.
I guess that the sweetest comeuppance in this is that those excluded because of their race can still tutor those included because of their race. Teaching interview skills to help the included get work after graduation demonstrates a strong likelihood of profitability through merely training multitudes of university graduates to use the word “remarkable” instead of “dude” or “no shit.”
The humor in this, I guess, is that uncounted tens and tens of millions of Americans actually, passionately believe the perceived rightness of a program like this. They are deceived. And it is not this deception in particular that I wish to expose (although I will) so much as this type of blindly-embraced deception that is richly woven into our social fabric.
There are countless idiot savants who parrot the deceit of the masters. Truth is an irritating inconvenience that further muddies the already unclear waters of their minds. These people, often leftists but nonetheless the comfortable majority among us, are not stupid per se, they simply won’t be bothered by the obvious.
Any truth is anathema to a deceiver and, when cornered, he will respond with slurs and phony labels, ad hominem attacks, and characteristic falsehoods. Confounding the confounded is a hopeful pastime. Every now and again a light, even dimly, can be seen when the easily uncovered is. It’s a beautiful thing.
That’s one of my primary goals in establishing this blog. I’d like to join with like-minded people who have had enough of deception and who don’t mind digging a bit, even communally, to find and give voice to better answers than a deceiver ever can.
You will read here about easily debunked deception: The likely truth behind TWA Flight 800, the North American Union, and Samuel “Sandy” Berger’s assault on the National Archives. Secure borders. Abortion “rites.” Special priviliges for special interests. The homosexual agenda (read: “sexual orientation”). Court assaults on Constitutional freedoms. Hate speech legislation. Hate crime legislation. Questions of legitimacy and legality in many court or legislative actions and the validity of criminal charges being lodged against perpetrators of same. MSM complicity in the assault on the Constitution. Legislative assaults on the Constitution. The list grows daily.
So what’s this to do with “A Rational Aversion?” Here is the initial inspiration, though the site’s concept is not limited to this point alone.
As a result of some casual meditation on a very common epithetical slur I decided to look up the phrase and settle a certain inner uneasiness. The logic of the term in question never did make sense to me.
With the exception of one conditioning term in Webster’s definition my earlier understanding of the epithet was right on the money. But the one missed word I discovered showed (to my unending delight) my thinking on the relevancy the phrase in common useage was 100% wrong. 100%. Period. Deceived again by masters of manipulation.
The phrase?
“Homophobia”
Let’s look at the real meaning of “homophobia.” We’ll take it apart, and in so doing empower ourselves to expose the malignancy that has embraced its misuse.
Webster defines the word thusly: “Homophobia (n): An irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals.”
Wow.
“Irrational,” huh? The word! That one word brought logic to the illogical.
A couple of quick clarifiers, here:
As far as “fear” goes, there is a quote I read on the back of a t-shirt (a shirt worn by a woman finishing a concrete slab with her co-workers, btw). It classifies fear better than any dictionary ever has: “Without Fear There Can Be No Courage.” How profound can you get?
There is no shame in fear. Irrational fear, on the other hand, is fear not governed by or according to reason. Irrational fear is a dead-run panic. And the deception in the abusers of “homophobia,” those fearing truth, is that they would have you believe that a rational aversion to anything is an act of fear when, in today’s market, it is an act of courage and integrity.
A phrase clearly defined yet deceitfully applied, now ugly and hateful. A word, by the way, that is now fully meant to be ugly and hateful. An epithet. A prominent star in the constellation named “Deceit.”
That is why http://www.arationalaversion.com exists.
Homophobia is one of any number of phobias, some real, some just an excuse to marginalize a person or a group. And what I found by discovering my own error was pure delight, because my new awareness provides the full and honest reversal of the word’s application as currently used by those living and promoting lives of deceit.
Ever been victimized by an ignoramus with a label? A mimic? A parrot? Someone from the ranks of those who swell at each chance to call reasoning people “phobic?” A coffee house wannabe aping a lie?
Well, take heart.
True homophobia is practiced–yea, verily, lived by those who accuse reasoning people of being homophobic. Isn’t that beautiful?
By its own nature reason leads the reasonable to question the claims of the unreasonable. The true homophobe (leftist or not) recoils from honest examination in blind, irrational fear of ridicule and exclusion. The reasonable among us do not fear being called names, while the “enlightened” arrogantsia demonstrates its own phobic lack of character by responding to thought and discussion with nothing more than a cheap and twisted epithet. “Homophobe” is as good as “die, heathen,” and has thus become a part of their “inclusive,” “tolerant” cry.
In my first post I included a quote by Joseph Goebbels. I will repeat it here only to preserve it for future readers. It is arguably the prime example of how deceivers view their own deceit, assuming they are intelligent enough to understand what Goebbels said. Here are my words from my post and those of Adolph Hitler’s Minister of Propaganda:
“An example, if it’s really needed? How about the wirey little rat-faced weasel named Joe Goebbels, who whored himself out to the Nazi regime as Minister of Propaganda. The only thing honest about that whole situation was that the Nazis at least called it the “Ministry of Propaganda.”
“In every exercise of propaganda there is truth involved to one degree or another. Those tidbits are what make the rest of the trash seem believable, you see. But it is the propagandist himself who is frequently most aware of the truth, for typically only the aware can twist the truth with such a grand finesse as that of Joseph Goebbels. And Goebbels proved the veracity of this thought when he gave us the following, and more frequently than not misquoted piece of historical leakage.
“Quoting Mr. Goebbels now: ‘If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic, [moral] and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.’
“Think about that for a bit. Think of what the ACLU, People for the American Way, George Soros, Planned Parenthood, NOW, and the hundreds if not thousands of others we’ll visit about in the future would have you believe about your own country, your own freedoms, your own Constitution, and the rights all that implies. Substitute any of the above organizations in place of the word ‘State’ as used by Goebbels and you will then be reading not history, but current events.”
